  • If seeing a sailfish rise to the surface to take a bait causes your adrenaline to flow then the site of a Blue Marlin will cause you to pull your hair out and wish you had taken up weight lifting 6 months earlier. Marlin can grow to enormous sizes and proportions. Imagine a 10 foot blue, purple and silver fish following your bait and all you can do is watch and wait for the strike. Then, against your better judgment, you take the rod and begin the hour long (or longer) fight to get this supercharged fish to the boat. Bring a camera (or maybe two) so your friends can get shots of this monster throwing his emense body skyward in an attempt to leave you with nothing but a fish story. When you get him close to the boat be prepared for him to "light up" as his anger continues. Once you have him to the boat, the first mate will tag the fish, estimate his size and weight (usually based on length) and release him to fight again another day. You will have pictures of a lifetime and more importantly the memories and sore muscles as proof of the battle. The only task left is to talk your wife into letting you get a taxidermist to create a "replica" mount of your catch....and you thought catching the fish was hard!
