Yellowfin Tuna is a much larger cousin of the Blackfin
Tuna (but just as tasty, if not better) that is usually found in much greater depths and much
further out to sea. Yellowfin are often found near dropoffs and once they are hooked provide
one of the strongest fights available. Some people consider the fight of the Yellowfin second
only to the Bluefin Tuna which can reach sizes of 1,000 lbs and more. Heavier fishing outfits
are required when this fish is targeted and the crew of the Captain Hook is ready for the fight.
Line up to 80 lbs is used when targeting this species and patience is required to locate and land
one of these brutes. The search is worth the fight.
