The Atlantic Sailfish is the slightly smaller (on average) brother of
the Pacific Sailfish, but size is not everything. Nothing we have experienced can get an anglers
adrenaline pumping more than watching a sailfish raise his majestic fin behind a trolled bait. The
anticipation of the hook up and fight is almost as intense as the fight itself. There are few
fish that can top the "water dance" of a sailfish. These beautiful blue, silver and purple
fish are common in the waters of Key West and the best times to catch them is April through
May. A late summer/early fall run also occurs around September and October. The crew on the
Captain Hook knows how to entice these trophy fish into the strike zone. We utilize dead bait
trolling and live bait drift fishing when the action is particularly hot. There are few pictures
that bring a smile or inspire stories more than those created by landing a sail.
